Charlotte Georgiou (She/Her/Hers) is our Strengthening Colors of Pride Research Program Coordinator. She has over a decade of work experience in the public and private sectors in the UK, spending many of these years managing large scale teams and major events. Charlotte has had experience serving in leadership roles on non-profit boards as well as large scale fundraising for various charitable organizations. She moved to the US in 2014 and has since been focusing on public and community health research, in addition to further training for improving efficiency and patient outcomes in non-profit and healthcare organizations. Her research interests center around women’s health, the health outcomes of women experiencing violence, and community health impacts of poor oral and physical health.
Lex Loro (They & She) is a queer justice activist, community health educator, and mental health professional in-training, whose work focuses primarily on improving access to mental health care for LGBTQ+ individuals. Lex oversees day-to-day operations at San Antonio’s LGBTQ+ Resource Center, The Center- Pride Center San Antonio, where they serve as the Community Empowerment Coordinator. They also serve as a Counseling Intern at the Alamo Area Rape Crisis Center. Lex holds a BA in Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies and Journalism from American University and is working on an MS in Psychology- Marriage and Family Therapy at Our Lady of the Lake University. Lex is the co-founder of Not Your Average Sex Talk, a peer-to-peer health advocacy network that uses a social justice framework to discuss sex and intimacy in ways that are often neglected in traditional sex education settings. Lex has traveled to colleges and conferences across the country with NYAST, to disperse specific and medically accurate sexual health information, facilitate discussions beyond heteronormative sexual intercourse, and address how homo/bi/ transphobia, ableism, and racism intertwine with attraction and intimacy. Lex lives in San Antonio, TX where she enjoys cheering on the Spurs, searching for the best tacos in town, and uplifting the voices of her queer and trans sisters, brothers, and siblings.
Wilfrid Nelson (He/Him/His) is a junior sociology and economics major from Saint Johns, Florida at Trinity University. There, he has been a Summer Bridge peer tutor for other first-generation or underrepresented students and is the current president of Trinity University Mock Trial. He plans to enroll in law school to go into public interest law after graduation. He enjoys analyzing data, watching and playing soccer, and advocating for equity.
Ryann Williams (She/Her/Hers) is a sociology and political science major at Trinity University. She’s working on Strengthening Colors of Pride as a summer research student this year. She has assisted in recruiting members from the community to participate in the Colors of Pride survey, managed social media content, and analyzed the data collected.
